Is there a better combination than Rado’s plasma high-tech ceramic and a breathtaking open work dial? Looking at the Rado DiaMaster Open Heart Automatic watch, we think not. Described as “a perfect example of Modern Alchemy”, Rado’s plasma high-tech ceramic offers all the same benefits as classic ceramic, including scratch resistance, lightness and hypoallergenic properties, but also offers an incredibly high shine so that is almost glistens like a diamond. The case of this Rado Diamaster watch is engineered entirely from plasma ceramic, sitting on the wrist at 35 millimetre in diameter, 10.5 millimetre in height and secures comfortably to the wrist by a tan brown calfskin leather strap.

While the lightweight case of this Rado DiaMaster Open Heart Automatic is impressive, its dial is equally as breathtaking. Dressed in iridescent white mother of pearl, the dial opens up to reveal the workings of the automatic winding movement hidden inside. Surrounding the open work aperture is then an array of dazzling diamonds to pair with the counterpart opening also bordered by diamonds and detailed with the iconic Rado anchor logo at the centre. The dial of the Rado DiaMaster Open Heart watch is also home to slender rose gold hands for the hours, minutes and seconds, powered by the C07 automatic winding calibre. Swiss made and fitted with re-engineered barrel, the movement impresses with an 80 hour power reserve fuelled by the efforts of the oscillating rotor seen through the case back. The case back, like that of the dial, is protected by scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass.
